Summary
Intended for preschool and primary school professionals, the book is conceived as both theoretical and operational tool addressing issues of intercultural education.
The contents of the book build on research work, tutoring and training on valorisation of diversities and similarities, decentralisation, cooperation, and non-violent conflict resolution: these experiences and hypotheses of intervention have altogether proved to be an occasion for reconsidering teaching practices and redefining principles in an intercultural perspective.
The itineraries illustrated in the book emerged from conversations and activities with pupils, parents and teachers: these experiences show as various family, school and childhood cultures may meet, know each other, and compare, at the same time as children of different origins are daily approaching each other and getting ready for a respectful coexistence with and within different stories and identities.
