While facing the challenges posed by cultural pluralism, one of the main tasks of family pedagogy today is to develop intervention strategies that might be effective for the variety of immigrant families being on the rise in the Italian society. In order to carry out this commitment, family pedagogy should delve into different parenting styles brought in by families, which means analysing their cultural roots, and exploring the possibilities for them to be welcomed within educational services as an enrichment for all. At the same time, parenting support actions aimed at immigrant families cannot be limited to the use of cultural mediators: these actions should rather embrace the relationship as a whole, and jointly combine instruments and practices offered by both pedagogy and cultural anthropology.
